Thoughts on quitting your full-time job to pursue FAANG internships?

Couple classes into OMSCS right now working full-time as a data analyst. I've been wanting to get into ML/ Data engineering, but with the job market right now its hard to get an entry level role in that position.

The internship > FT job pipeline seems the easiest way, but I feel like its too risky to quit your FT job just to get a FAANG internship with a chance that it converts into a FT job.

Has anyone ever done this before or considered doing it?
