Husband's are represented as simpish, controlled, and sometimes cuckolded spouses in a marriage in the media- why? Is there truth to this?

I've been watching videos of the Oh You Betcha guy and Charlie Berens. Most of their stuff is pretty funny, but I sort of cringe at how they jokingly (although also realistically) represent marriage in the videos. Where a man is "fearful of his wife finding out he was having drinks at the bar" or his wife telling him what to do (what to eat, what their plans are), or that funny couple where the wife shows double standards (says a guy on TV is hot shed marry him/have his kids but when the hubby says a chick is cute, wife loses it). Those types of videos.

Is this how most of yall's marriages are like? Comedy aside, there's truth to these types of videos it seems and I as a married man, I can't imagine living like that. Happy Wife does not always mean Happy Life lol. Why are we allowing this type of stuff?
