How to get into a calorie deficit?

Hey everyone. I started my fitness journey as of yesterday by going to the gym. I want to try to get rid of my body fat, my stomach kind of sticks out and clothes are slowly starting to not fit me. I’m a 23 M, 5’7 and currently weigh 195. All this is new to me and it’s kind of overwhelming but I do not want to give up.

How do I get into a deficit? What are some good ways to start and what should I do? What are some tips I should know before progressing into this journey?
