How does playing with new friends work?

Hi Everyone,

I'm about 30 hours into the game and HR 14. My girlfriend would like to play with me but I'm not sure how to go about it with content etc.

Would she be able to jump straight into investigations with me or would it be best for me to just play through her assigned missions until she's up to my progression state?
