100 Films You Must Experience Before You Die

Up to 2024, what are some of the greatest films that you feel absolutely everyone must watch?

We'll compile a list based on votes from r/Letterboxd users. (Inspired by a similar project over on r/music.)

EDIT: Don't forget to VOTE for other comments too, guys, so we can have the results! lol

+ to prevent splitting up votes, you can use SEARCH COMMENTS to see if the film you're thinking of has been nominated before.

Thanks for joining!

Let's start with the first Top 2 (or maybe Top 10, depending on upvotes and quality of discussions). Next round starts 1-3 days from now.

Rules: - 1 film per comment - If possible, please reply with your reason for choosing the film - Max 3 films per director (Max 1 in Top 10, Max 2 in Top 50, Max 3 in total)

Disclaimer: I know the results will not represent the actual best, most powerful 100 films humanity has produced or such, because it's based on voting, hence great yet lesser-known films will not receive as much love.

Regardless, I think this can be a strong list for those trying to get into films, or introducing loved ones to the hobby, and at the very least will tell us something about r/letterboxd users' tastes, haha.

Can't wait to hear some great suggestions from you guys!

CLOSED: Results and next round will be posted as soon as possible. Thank you for voting!

UPDATE: Please add new suggestions to that post, you can also re-suggest something if it didn't make it to the Top 50 from this post. Thanks!
