Is losing this much weight so fast healthy?
Tw: infant loss.
I started my pregnancy at 163lbs and got up to 185-190 by the end of my pregnancy. I've always struggled with weight fluctuations but the smallest I've been in my adult life is around 135-140 (I'm 5'7 and 31 years old). I gave birth on January 8th to a term baby girl, Meadow, but due to complications related to a heart condition that was far worse than anyone could of predicted, we lost her two days later. I never pumped or breastfed and this was my first baby. It's been about 12 days and im down to 144(if my scale is correct which I believe it is), which would be 46 pounds from birth until now and 20 pounds from my pre-pregnancy weight.
Physically I feel great, it was a vaginal birth and I feel (physically) much better than I have since before the last few months of my pregnancy.
Is this too much weight to lose in this amount of time? Or is everyone different and this could be what's normal for my body for this pregnancy experience? From everything I've looked up, it's not normal.
I haven't gotten around to scheduling a 6 week appointment with my OB, I had to give birth hours away from home and despite knowing she would be born sick no one was prepared for what actually ended up happening so I have been dealing with a lot of the trauma and shock from that, but I plan on making an appointment today for a couple weeks from now to make sure I'm healing okay and to maybe get answers for the weight loss if needed But is this concerning enough to where I should request a sooner appointment?
