Palermo or Turin for summer holiday?
Hello, we are looking for a base to spend 2 months in. I know these are vastly different places on opposite ends of the country but which would you rather stay in for an extended trip? I love the sea and southern Italian culture but it's hot and kind of isolated. Turin seems closer to other cities and countries and more of a hub (if we want to travel around by train or plane). Also the rentals in Turin are nicer and surprisingly cheaper.
Should we give up the Mediterranean jewel of Palermo for the safer option of Turin, or will we be bored there?
