Mark hasn't acted hypocritical at all this season
So Season 3 Episode 2 sparked a lot of discussion in the community. We can talk all day about how both Mark and Cecil could've handled the situation better but besides Cecil's side having far more support, people are notoriously much harsher on Mark, going as far as to take Cecil's stance that he is a hypocrite, when the cases people bring up to say so don't quite match at all with that
1. Omni-Man
This is something Cecil himself brings up but it doesn't have any grounds to stand on. He's acting like Mark knew Omni-Man was on Thraxa the whole time and willingly went there because of it, when that was completely unbeknownst to him and he just wanted to help the Thraxans. During his whole stay he's trashing on Nolan for his actions and even when he says the viltrumites are on their way to lay waste on the planet he's so pissed he actually has to take the time to consider if he should help these people or just leave(which he would've in the first place if he could on his own) to let him deal with all that by himself
2. Angstrom Levy/Darkwing
Did he actually believe anything he said ? And Mark's right in saying it's different(to which Cecil agrees to an extent), Darkwing killing some random thugs is not comparable at all to him having to kill a bloodthirsty maniac with a personal grudge against him and who'll do everything in his power to make him suffer, with an infinite multiverse of choices at his disposal
3. Oliver
This is the most egregious one, people saying Mark should make Oliver pay for the Maulers. Besides Oliver being obviously a kid who doesn't know any better, he has the powers of a viltrumite, even if Mark wanted to lock him up, what kind of place would actually be able to hold him ? Unless you tell me with a straight face they should also put a sonic bomb in the 1-year-old's head. Sure, that definitely won't skew his feelings towards humanity even more 🗿. Cecil said it himself, Debbie's parenting is their best bet lol
So yeah, don't disrespect my man like that
