Moving from IA to Risk Management. Advice?

Those of you that transitioned into risk management from IA, what's your experience been like? What challenges did you face and what are some things to look out for? Pros and cons? Did you go back to IA or would you consider going back?

I have been internal auditing for almost 9 years now. Started as an intern, then IA and eventually a senior the past 6.5 years in the govt and higher education sector. I have grown from enjoying IA to becoming very tired of it over the years, so I decided to jump to risk management. I'm starting my new role in a private company (first time working in private) in two weeks in a dedicated ERM function. I'm not sure if this is what I'd want in the long term but I've decided to try it out and see how I like it. Appreciate any advice!
