If you only had one blastocyst - would you fresh transfer, or would you test with PGT-A?
We are in a tough position. We are on Day 3 of our four fertilized eggs incubating and hopefully making their way towards blastocysts. Based on attrition rate and various other factors, we worry that we will only have one blast on Day 5. Our original plan had been to send our blasts off to do PGT-A because I had a miscarriage last year. However, the financial aspect is a concern for us. Whether we send one blast or four, the minimum biopsy fee is $2000. Then, each embryo will be $250. It feels stressful and, frankly, overwhelming to consider spending over $2000 on one blast.
We have been given the option to do a fresh transfer and are doing PIO in case we decide to do this. If, miraculously, we end up with four blasts, we intend to send them out for testing. We would likely do this for three as well. Two is a little fuzzier. But one? Is there a real benefit in us sending off one single blast for a CRAZY amount of money knowing that we will also have to spend $3800 to transfer it in the case that it IS a euploid or LLM? Essentially - if we opt to test a singular blast, it will cost us an additional $6k.
In this case - what would you do?
