Journey person looking to join 353 (Toronto)

Hey everyone, Newly licensed journeyman looking to join the 353 union in Toronto. I completed my apprenticeship with a small family run non- union company. Looking to get out because my wage is pretty low. Would the union directly hire a journeyperson? I want to eventually transfer out (around 1 year) to the Edmonton electrical union too. Is the work looking up right now for Toronto union? I’m planning to call the hall monday but figured i’d ask online first.
