Terrible case of BV right now and wondering if anyone has ever experienced pelvic pain/cramping and lower back pain during a case of BV?

Edit to add symptoms:

I’ve had persistent, dull pelvic pain for a little over two weeks. I thought maybe I was constipated so I took Metamucil and did a Ducalax suppository. The dull ache did not subside. The pelvic pain can sometimes be sharper on one side than the other and then switch sides.

I then started getting lower back pain. It’s a tight dull ache that’s definitely inconvenient but does get better with OTC pain meds.

My gyne tested me for BV and it was positive. He did a pelvic exam and I felt no pain when he’d press on my pelvis. I’m on day 2 of the vaginal gel treatment and haven’t improved yet.

Edit 2: I should also note that I have pretty severe anxiety and am a chronic symptom-googler. I’m convinced it’s cancer of some sort because that’s what all of the search engines tell me lol

FINAL UPDATE: A few people have DMd me asking for an update. I posted an update about 100 days and that still holds true. Bottom line: talk to your doctor. Educate yourself on your pelvic floor and what can cause it to be strained/cause pain. I did have BV but took antibiotics for it and was still experiencing the pain. That’s when the rest of my journey started. Tight pelvic floor muscles can be caused by: Poor posture, Poor workout form, Straining/pushing when urinating, Consistently holding in your pee, Straining/pushing when pooping, Prolonged sitting (like a desk job), Obesity

Here’s the update that I posted 100 days ago:

So the pain started radiating to my hips and got pretty gnarly. To the point that I would skip my workouts and avoid walking my dog.

I went back to the doc and she sent me to PT. The PT guys were stumped because my symptoms didn’t ‘fit’ with any officially cause/diagnosis. They referred me to a Pelvic Floor Therapist.

The pelvic floor therapist was able to tell me (after an internal exam with her fingers - standard protocol) that my muscles down there were super tight and could for sure be contributing to my symptoms (It should also be noted that I’m overweight which doesn’t help the lower back pain).

She put me on an exercise routine aimed at relaxing and strengthening my muscles down there and in surrounding areas. I also bought a pelvic floor wand to help relieve spasms/tightness in my pelvic floor muscles.

This helped me immensely. I no longer have lingering pelvic pain or hip pain!
