Headless laptop or new laptop?

I have a razer blade 16 with a severed head. A repair guy suggested removing the top half and pairing it with a display since there is no replacement available. For about $500CAD.

Would I damage the laptop in the long run with it being halved? Is the cost worth it or I better off get a new laptop? Anything is appreciated.

Spec is 4080, i9 13950hx, 32gb ram, 1tb ssd (and no I didn't pay full price for it 😅)
