I started using Facebook marketplace and my god do the buyers suck.

I started listing christmas inflatables that I had bought on clearance last year, little did I realize that stores are sold out of them because of the backlog. So suddenly a modest sale turned into over 40 messages of people asking to snap up these inflatables right away. I let the first person that contacted me get to buy it first. I let them pick it up same day or I'd contact the next person.

Over and over and over I had people ghost me. "I'll pick this up after work at 7!" "I'm downtown, I can be there at 5." Yada yadda meanwhile I have dozens of people asking if its sold and I didn't know if I should say its sold because people kept ghosting me.

I had one woman mad at me because I marked an item as sold because I was just getting overwhelmed with messages and I needed people to stop asking if the item was still available. She was going to pick the item up at 8 pm, I told her please if you change your mind just let me know so I can sell it to another person, she replied "I want this 100%," then you guessed it 8pm comes and goes and she ghosts me. How hard is it to just say "I dont want this anymore."

The whole thing has sucked, I much prefer ebay where the buyer commits to buy.
