FPL Gameweek 22 Preview - Blanks and Doubles, Chips Strategy, & More!

Greetings all, and welcome to our FPL Gameweek 22 preview!

First of all, apologies for not getting a preview out for GW21. James and I (Joe) just had a ton of real-life stuff happening, and didn't have time to write anything midweek.

We'll be back to normal going forward, though!

Here's the link to this week's full preview, with all the actual analysis and whatnot:

Alternatively, as always, you can check out the TLDR below.

---

Blanks and Doubles

We've laid out all the blanks and doubles, in full, in the main article.

Quickly though, here are the ones we know about right now:

  • Double GW 24 - Liverpool and Everton (finally confirmed)
  • GW 29 and GW 33 - League Cup Finalists + Their PL Opponents
  • GW 34 and GW 36 - FA Cup Semi-Finalists + Their PL Opponents

Chip Strategy

Again, all the actual reasoning for this is in the full article!

(We've also given a bit of advice on what to do if you've already used any of your chips)

Here are the quick bullet points though, and feel free to fire away with any questions in the comments:

  • TC Salah GW 24
  • Dead End into GW 29
  • WC after that (likely GW 30)
  • BB in GW 33
  • FH in GW 34 (avoiding blanks)
  • AM in GW 36-38

Fixture Ticker

For your medium-term planning pleasure, here are the best attacking fixture runs, over the next 5 gameweeks:

  • Liverpool
  • Spurs
  • Arsenal
  • Everton
  • Palace

And the best defensive fixture runs:

  • Spurs
  • Brighton
  • Palace
  • Arsenal
  • Fulham

Should I Buy?

Here are quick takes on all the most-bought players in FPL right now. More analysis in the main article, or - as always - just ask us on here!

  • Yes - Wood, Isak, Gordon
  • Maybe - Amad, Sels, Hall, Elanga, Robinson, Raul
  • No - Aina

Should I Sell?

  • Yes - Cunha, Maddison, Raya (if you really need the money)
  • Maybe - Joao Pedro
  • No - N. Jackson, Mbeumo, Raya (if just to change keeper!), Saliba, Trent

Captaincy Corner

Haaland, Salah, and Palmer are your three main options this week.

If I had Haaland, I'd probably go with him.

But I don't! And I'm going to captain Salah, regardless of whether Palmer is fit or not. His blank in GW 21 - against one of the league's best defences (which Brentford aren't), was his first since GW 7... ridiculous.

That's It

Thanks for reading, everybody!

If you've got any comments or questions, please just fire away and we'll get back to you.

In the meantime, best of luck out there in Gameweek 22!
