Buyer requested refund

This dude requested a refund, I accepted, and he said he was returning the item so ever since then I’ve been waiting it was supposed to come Jan 22 and I still haven’t received the item but eBay is charging me the the refund amount, I’m tryna find how to tell em I haven’t received the returned item. and their customer service is so horrible I couldn’t find any other way to get help
