Planning a "budget" Indian wedding in the US! Feeling confused and lost!?!?

So.. my wedding was always supposed to happen in India, but due to certain circumstances, my fiance and I had to decide to get married in the US. There are 6 months to go to my wedding, and it is going to be in the Midwest suburbs. It's going to be a small wedding; we are trying to keep the guest count up to 120 guests and nothing more. So here is the problem: I feel completely lost and out of depth in this process. I am a grad student and have a very busy semester coming up and don't have all the time in the world to plan this thing. My parents who are more than happy to plan and run the show are in India, and they are unable to help much with the wedding planning. My mom is going to come to thr US 2 months before the wedding. She and my father are unable to come now. My fiances family is based out of the US, but I don't know why they are not taking much charge either. We have hired a partial planner to help us find vendors and will do a day of coordination. Also, we both don't want to spend a shit ton on the wedding - the budget that we have is $60K. We are hosting three events: a small haldi (close family and friends only), a sangeet, and the ceremony, which will have all guests. Although we are on a budget, we obviously want to have a good wedding esp cause some of our guests are coming from overseas.

Here is where is want some input and perspective.

  1. Is $60K a realistic budget to plan a 120-person Indian wedding?
  2. Where can I save?? Our decoration budget is $10K. Is that a good budget to have?? How can we make the most out of it?? Following are the things we have booked so far. Thoughts??
  • Venue for all three events and the total is $20K. This includes cost of the room rental, per person food and beverage service charge, bar/drinks cost, kitchen fee, chairs.
  • Photograher and videograpger $5.5K
  • DJ & Lighting is $4.5K
  • Partial planner/wedding coordinator is $4K
  • Henna artist: $800

I want to know if we are doing okay in terms of planning so far. We still have 6 months to go, but I am feeling a lot of pressure because both I and my fiance are very busy and are finding it difficult to manage everything in the budget we have set and also host a good event! Any ideas or suggestions are very appreciated!!
