Bitches with jobs!

Hey girls! A friend of mine was randomly called last week by our supervisor and promoted to a position I’ve wanted for two years at my job. I’m happy for him AND feel defeated as I have been trying to leave the classroom into another role within my school (admin-related roles) for two years or so.

Q: How do I leave a job and find success and joy in another career? I welcome any advice, leads, suggestions, or just support as I’ve been frantically redoing my resume and applying for jobs for the last 24 hours as I hold back tears of disappointment and embarrassment (feel undervalued at my job).

Context: I’m a middle school teacher entering their 7th year in education and a founding teacher at the school. I don’t see myself teaching for 10+ years yet I’m approaching that number faster than expected. I’m not even 30 yet either!!
