Owner's Rep - Development/Growth
Background: I grew through the ranks of a large GC from right out of college to PM. I was with them for 11 years. I've now been on the Owner's side for 6 years, all with the same company and it's been great. The pay is really great and the flexibility is unmatched. I work mainly in the education sector, run my own projects with minimal oversight (again another perk) and feel like I excel at my job. However, I feel I'm starting to hit the ceiling on my growth from a knowledge standpoint. I am one that believes you learn something new everyday, but still feel capped out. Th firm I work for is on the smaller side (~23 people) so our training resources are limited.
My question is, what are some of you Owner's reps doing to "sharpen your knife"? I'm not necessarily looking for training courses, however not opposed to them. Are there good websites to tap into or books to read to further educate myself on the happenings of the market or improve on my skills?
Any insight would be great!
