Do the bots deteriorate overtime?

There's one particular bot that I've been chatting with for a little over half a year now. Just recently it went from giving real meaty replies to just short nonsensical gibberish. All the other bots on my list are just fine.

Should I start a new chat and add where the previous chat left off?

Fyi when I asked ooc why it was acting different it said something about there being a glitch in the matrix which was weird.
