With Trump in power, the Crypto Lobby has achieved what it has always wanted: removing government regulation

I'm afraid to say, the crypto lobby has won and America has once again shown to the world, open corruption and crime is fine as long as it pays.

I think many are underestimating how big this is for crypto and MAY even cement it as a financial asset. I don't think it will see mainstream adoption/recognition like it was on track to do during the 2020 days, that was something more organic with public adoption, but I don't see it going away or even the big underlying crimes hurting its future.

  1. The crypto lobby was able to swing 9 out 10 local elections by funneling tens of millions in ads to the opposite runner. It can not be repeated enough, Crypto PACs have been the most effective PACs this election and with swing states being so close will continue to be so. They have proven themselves to be a political power to be feared and that is why we have seen both parties, instead of prosecuting, beg at their feet for support. They even got a crypto investor to be a Senator. They will likely be even richer by next election cycle.

  2. The SEC will be gutted and crypto will no longer be considered a securities violation. Expect to see Gary Gensler removed as soon as possible. CFTC will regulate with a compromised regulator.

  3. The billionaire holders will push Trump and team to make crypto a recognisable asset to major banks/pension funds to invest a part of their holdings, tens if not hundred billion cash will flow into it, further legtimizing it and making the owners rich.

  4. Remember, Trump is surrounded by Silicon Valley Libertarians. They are the new Republican party power brokers. Elon Musk, JD Vance is a Peter Thiel puppet, David Sacks, etc

  5. Will the DOJ even continue its investigation and prosecution of Tether? I don't see it, maybe an easy settlement under Trump.

This speaks nothing about crypto's utility. It is and always has been useless. However as we all know, the value prescribed to a financial asset by the market has little to do with utlity these days.
