How the quality of her music degraded over time and alienated fans

I vividly remember 7 Rings coming out and feeling like crap because I was a homeless teenager and my idol just released a song bragging about how much money she has in an attempt to copy the music that was popular at the time, but what Ariana and her team didn't realize is that that the reference material existed because the artists grew up poor and finally got what they wanted. Meanwhile Ariana has always had money...it was so weird. Mariah grew up poor and never made something so tasteless no matter what the trend was.

I just feel like Ariana shone in electropop/dance pop like in My Everything and Dangerous Woman. Sweetener had very strong songs but it was also starting to verge into her blackfishing era and cringe attempts at rap which ultimately caused her shift into r&b to be awkward. She also created "pete davidson" and we all know how that ended. Then the song Thank u, Next came out and I honestly don't know how it became popular because it's completely about her and very specific scenarios pertaining to her life. There was no attempt to make them relatable to the average consumer. I don't know about you guys but I never dated a Sean, Ricky, or Malcolm and I don't care that she did. Looking back, the r&b sound in the Thank u Next album as a whole was just very ill fitting for her voice and vibe in my opinion. Once again I found myself gravitating to the more dancey pop songs like bloodline and bad idea (because that's what she does best). Naturally, Positions was a flop for me because it had that mellow r&b vibe that was not super fitting for her voice and the lyrics were just so crass. She's always been very sexual but back in the day it wasn't so corny. It felt like she was trying to seem serious and powerful instead of making a fool of herself. "Just give me them babies".........................

Eternal sunshine is well produced but I find the melodies and chords take strange turns and are not very memorable. Especially Imperfect for You. The melody is so childish and flat it just sounds like something that would be on a kids show. Supernatural is the only song I like because it sounds like it could be on My Everything; however, no matter how good it sounds, most of her fans aren't stupid enough to look past the fact that the entire project is damage control for her mess of a life and the lyrics are meant to harass Dalton and make things up about him while simultaneously hyping up the raggedy ginger hobgoblin that nobody wants. And she didn't give us fantasize. No, the Boy is Mine does not even remotely come close.
