Wireless AA audio skips like a scratched CD from 2003

Here's our setup:

Sony XAV-9500ES

S22 Ultra

Z Fold 4

When connecting the S22 Ultra wirelessly, the audio skips like a scratched CD and the map freezes. We went into Developer Options and disabled wireless Android Auto and connected it with a USB cable and it works fine that way.

Z Fold 4 works fine wirelessly.

I contacted Sony, Samsung, and Google and none of them are any help.

We factory reset the head unit, reinstalled and uninstalled Android Auto updates.

Any ideas?

UPDATE 9/19/2023 - We upgraded from the S22 Ultra to an S23 Ultra and have no issues at all now. I also got a Z Fold 5 and it does not have any issues. Seems like the S22 Ultra just can't handle Android Auto.

UPDATE 12/28/2023 - After updating my wife's S23 Ultra to the new OneUI 6, Android Auto is worse than ever. It completely crashes every few minutes snd skips like crazy. Appears this is a widespread issue that only Google can fix by pushing an update for AA. Weird thing is, yet again my Z Fold 5 is perfectly fine while my wife's is the problem. She's beginning to think she's the problem! lol

UPDATE 1/7/2025 - After many different phones we have determined that Android Auto is just complete garbage. My wife had an S24 Ultra, and now a Pixel 9 Pro, and I have a 9 Pro Fold. All of those phones have the same issue. I've completely given up at this point. Wired Android Auto is the only way to make it not skip.
