British citizenship through grandparent
So I’m a queer, visibly hispanic woman and first generation American looking into leaving America. With the way things are going recently I simply don’t feel safe anymore and id rather not stick around to find out whether or not my intuition is correct. The main countries I’ve been looking at are Britain, Ireland, Colombia, or Canada. The easiest option is Colombia because my mother is from there and I know and love the country, but in terms of settling down and living there permanently I don’t think it’s a good option.
So my question is could I claim British citizenship through descent, my grandfather was born in British territories in Ecuador and is technically a British citizen due to this. I’d also like to bring my mom with me but she is not related to my grandfather, what would the process of these things be?
