The purge is still not over
They’re cracking down on many things, especially drinks. I was drinking a bottle of Sparkling Ice when I got labor shared to stow when the lines were dry and I had finished stowing all my totes. An OM who I used to really like, who has a reputation for being short tempered, came over to me, rudely called my name out in front of everyone, and told me I had to dump it out right there and then.
I told him it’s literally just flavored water in a clear container, and he told me “I don’t give a fuck, no drinks are allowed on the floor period. He noticed my protein bar sticking out of my pocket and told me aggressively how you’re not allowed to eat on the floor at all, and if he caught me again it’s a write up. He has never enforced this rule before (he’s seen me with a bottle of Diet Pepsi a few months ago at my station and just said hi), and only enforced the cell phone and AirPod rule.
The OM notices the guy at the station next to me drinking a juice box of apple juice, and rudely told him to dump it out. My coworker explained that he had Type 1 diabetes and he needed a quick boost. OM said he didn’t care and made him dump the drink out, stating that when he was in the military he would’ve had to do push-ups for talking back to his supervisor like that. My coworker then told him “for all I know, you could’ve been dishonorably discharged. Being ex-military doesn’t always mean you’re a good person, and if you want respect, you’re going to have to earn it. Not having no disregard for peoples’ medical conditions to meet your monthly quota,”. He went red in the face, took a photo of my coworker’s badge, and walked away.
A PA who had heard everything told my coworker that every January and February this OM loves to crack down on everything.
