Fiancé wont have our wedding until all my debts are paid off

Hi! I (24f) got engaged 6 months ago after dating my bf(24m)for 5 years and we recently moved in together. He is very focused financial stability and his parents check up on our finances often. I work two part time jobs in my field and one other seasonal position and still make significantly less than him. He started sending me jobs last night after his parents had a talk with him about my career choices. He now told me that he will not have a wedding until all of my student debt and other debts are paid off. He told me he doesn’t want to take on my “baggage”. He knew about the debt before we got engaged. I moved out of state to be with him and am no where near to my family or friends. I am deeply upset and am rethinking everything, am I overreacting?
