Has Salisbury North improved since the 90s?

Hi from New Zealand 🇳🇿. I have read quite a bit on the horrendous John Bunting crime spree in the 90s and early 2000s. Depictions at the time of that neighbourhood sounded deeply depressing and left behind (we have that over here too in some areas) I know his house was knocked down after his conviction. Has the neighbourhood changed for the better since then? From what I found on here people say it’s much more multicultural but still pretty bad at times?
